What drives the cost
Four things decide the number: whether the layout changes (moving plumbing, gas and electrical is the biggest single cost), the cabinet and counter package, the appliance allowance, and how much of the old kitchen has to be brought up to current code while it is open.

How long it takes
A same-footprint refresh is typically 3–5 weeks on site. A full down-to-studs remodel with layout changes runs 6–10 weeks, plus 4–8 weeks of cabinet lead time that we order before demolition starts, so it does not sit idle.
